Barlovento Recursos Naturales has successfully finished a project for wind resource measurement at 9 sites in Bolivia. This campaign has been commissioned by ENDE (Electricity National Entity) and has consisted in the measurement using met masts in different areas among plains and altitudes of 4000 meters for over a year. Besides, the wind potential has been assessed and the best sites for the installation of wind farm in the following years have been determined.
The project will contribute to the exploitation of the Bolivian wind potential, since, currently, Bolivia only has one built wind farm of a total power of 3 MW.
Barlovento develops both wind and solar projects in more than 50 countries, especially in Europe, Latin America and Africa. In Latin America, Barlovento has offices in Peru, Chile, Mexico, Brazil and Bolivia.
