Barlovento took part in the EEUG [1] meeting on power systems transients that was held in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) last 23-25 September.
During the event, the experts joined together to discuss the current challenges in the area of power system transients. Barlovento’s branch Energy to Quality exposed the topic DFIG simplified model in ATP for TOV and Slow Front overvoltage studies in Single Line to Ground Faults. With to the valuable feedback provided by different experts in the conference, we have defined new guidelines to follow to increase the accuracy of the model.
On the other hand, the new enhancements in ATP Draw and the current state and future improvements of the program ATP-EMTP were shown and explained by leading professionals and developers in the industry.
At last, the interesting course “Temporary Overvoltages due to Low Harmonic Order Resonances” was held with the aim to delve in the different electromagnetic phenomena produced in substations and in several of the archetypal configurations of renewable generation plant designs.
Barlovento, through Energy to Quality, carries out power system transient simulation studies in different software platforms such as ATP-EMTP, PowerFactory (DIgSILENT), PSS/E, PSCAD, y MATLAB-Simulink, etc.
