ACWA Power [1] has inaugurated Khalladi windfarm in Tangier, its 120 MW will supply clean power to a large part of the cement industry in Morocco. ACWA Power is a utility based in Saudi Arabia and branches all over the Middle East and Northern Africa, with a great portfolio in power generation and desalination plants and has developed more than 22 GW of power all over Africa.
Morocco, and the rest of countries in Africa, is well aware of the importance of increasing the development of clean energies and has the objective to develop 2.000 MW of wind energy by the year 2020.
Barlovento has taken part in this project as Lender Engineer for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [2] and BMCE Bank [3] from Morocco.
Barlovento has been working in different renewable projects for developers, utilities and financing entities in Morocco for more than ten years.
