Last Friday, 12th of May, the two first phases of the Wind Farm Tres Mesas [1] were inaugurated. The farm is located in the Mexican State of Tamaulipas and Barlovento has taken active part in the tasks of supervision of construction, property engineering and wind turbines testing.
The first phases of the project consist of 45 wind turbines with capacity of 148,5 MW to which 51,8 MW will be added up to reach the projected 200 MW.
The governor of the state of Tamaulipas was responsible for inaugurating these two phases and, during the event, he pointed out the importance of the use of alternative energies and highlighted the future execution of more than 20 wind generation projects in the state; besides, he explained that Tamaulipas in one of the Mexican states with higher wind potential, thus the biggest investments for the installation of wind farms are to be directed to the province.
