Acciona Energía has set up its first wind farm in Chile, fitted with 15 wind turbines of 3 megawatts of unit capacity and 116 m rotor’s diameter, the highest operative power in the country.
Barlovento, from its subsidiary in Chile and its head office in Spain, has taken part as an Independent Technical Assessor in the financing of the project. This service rendered by Barlovento is essential for the access to credit, especially under the Project Finance model. The Technical Assessor identifies and evaluates all kind of technical risks and allows taking the actions necessary for its mitigation and control.
Since 2012, Barlovento has been present in Chile, where we offer engineering and consultancy services together with measurements and tests of solar and wind energy. Barlovento, as technical assessor, has taken part in several wind and photovoltaic projects in Chile.
