In Brazil, there are some there are some electrical requirements to fulfil in order to build a wind plant and connect it to the grid. It is necessary to make an advance electrical studies package complying the sub-module 23.3 developed by ONS, Brazilian electric operator.
These studies are divided into static and transient studies:
Within the static studies, we can name:
- Loadsflow
- Shortcircuit study
And within the transient studies:
- Electromechanicaltransients
- Electromagnetictransients
Besides, an analysis of the harmonic emission of hte wind plant as described in the Brazilian guide “ONS RE 2.1 057/2008 - Instruçõespararealização de estudos e medições de QEE relacionadosaosnovosacessos à redebásica” shall be carried out.
With these studies, the grid operator or distribution company authorizes the grid integration of the new plant as it is verified that the connection will not disturb the electrical grid out of the admissible limits imposed by the Brazilian system.
