Agreement between Barlovento and Inores to render wind energy services in Turkey.
Barlovento Recursos Naturales has reached an agreement with Turkish company INORES in order to render its services in the areas of wind and solar energy.
Barlovento has a wide experience in renewable energy projects in more than 50 countries. On the other side, Inores has an in-depth knowledge of the renewable industry in Turkey. Both companies have taken part in different wind and solar projects in Turkey. This agreement will allow Barlovento and Inores to offer a wide range of services during the development, construction and exploitation of renewable projects: consultancy, engineering, due diligence, tests, etc.
The Turkish Government has established the priority to increase the energy production from renewable sources up to 30% of the total generated energy in the country by 2023.
The Turkish power industry, following the implementation of laws favourable to the investment and the strong increase of the demand, is becoming more active and competitive and is attracting a growing number of investors. At the end of 2014, Turkey had installed 3763 MW of wind energy.
The Turkish ambitious plan for 2023, centennial of the foundation of the Republic, includes important goals for the wind industry:
- Raise the total installed power up to 120 GW.
- Increase the weight of renewable energies up to 30 per cent.
- Maximize the use of hydraulic energy.
- Increase the installed wind power capacity up to 20.000 MW.
- Install electric plants to provide 600 MW of geothermal energy and 5.000 MW of solar energy.
- Expand the transport grid up to 60.717 km.
- Reach an energy distribution capacity of 158.460 MVA.
- Extend the use of smart grids.
- Raise the natural gas storing capacity as far as 5.000 millions of m3.
- Found a power exchange.
- Construction of 2 nuclear plants started and aimed the start operation till 2023. Evaluating the third plant.
- Increase the carbon installed capacity from 14.5 GW to 30 GW.
